Since Easter is just around the corner. We should remember what this means.

Jesus was beaten. Jesus said to know the truth and the truth will set you free. And there is something very freeing in giving up traditions that God does not approve of and replacing them with the things that He has. Jesus chose to get crucified on the cross.

Death reminds us just how feeble and frail we are no matter what we might be wearing. We cannot dress up death. Death only entered in on the day that they ate the fruit from the forbidden tree. Every time you read an obituary, every time you attend a funeral, there is only one thing that you know for certain about that person: he or she was a sinner. Death had not meant the end of his mission. The things which were most important in his life the principles for which he lived and for which he died , had risen in their hearts.

Because Jesus is alive, death is not the last word. Because of our history, I think that we are at home with the image of a Calvary people. Because Jesus didn't stay dead, because he came back to life and ascended back to His heavenly home, I know that this life is not the end for me. One day, heaven won't be just a hazy promise; it'll be a reality.

God’s future has arrived in the present. Instead of mere echoes, we hear the voice of God itself: a voice which speaks of rescue from evil and death.
